The Green Island Foundation gives and receives support from eco-events like the annual Samui Mala Festival. It also manages initiatives such as the publication of a Green Guide and co-operates in programmes like the Low Carbon Schools Project, funded by Samui Municipality and the Thai Hotels Association. Green Island Foundation connects with the various projects and events. The recent campaigns for both businesses and government bodies to become more environmentally responsible is POSITIVE SAMUI urging people to move forward sustainable development focusing on People, Planet and Profit.

สำหรับปีนี้ แตกต่างและเข้มข้นขึ้น นอกจากกิจกรรมที่กล่าวแล้ว เรามีการประกาศเจตนารมร่วมกัน เพื่อผลักดันให้เกาะสมุยเป็น เกาะสวรรค์นักปั่น – Samui Cycling Paradise อย่างเป็นทางการ ด้วยการลงนามบันทึกข้อตกลงปฏิญญาว่าด้วย การขับเคลื่อนเกาะสมุย สู่การเป็น เกาะสวรรค์นักปั่น Cycling Paradise โดยเป็นการแสดงเจตนารมณ์ร่วมกันระหว่างฝ่ายหนึ่ง คือ เทศบาลนครเกาะสมุย มูลนิธิเกาะสีเขียว กับอีกฝ่ายหนึ่ง เป็นหน่วยงาน / องค์กรทั้งภาครัฐและเอกชน ผู้ประกอบการ รวม 46 ราย ครอบคลุม สาระสำคัญ อย่างน้อย 3 ด้าน

• การสร้างวัฒนธรรมการขับขี่ปลอดภัย
• การอำนวยความสะดวก ส่งเสริมให้ผู้คนบนเกาะปั่นจักรยานทั้งเพื่อสุขภาพ เพื่อการกีฬาและในชีวิตประจำวัน
• การอำนวยความสะดวก ส่งเสริมให้มีการปั่นจักรยานเพื่อการท่องเที่ยว
